“Miss P. and Shabby Chic”

Photo: Pinterest

My story “A Sea Of Yarn” about knitting is the reason I’ve decided to write this article about the fashion trend taking Twitter by storm right now, “Shabby Chic.” I’m in love with the colors powder blue, pink, white, cream, and other popular colors for shabby chic design. Ranging from furniture, flowers, photos, dresses, linen, you name it, I love it. The shabby chic flowers, I’m most definitely drawn to these. All things fluffy, they are very appealing to the naked eye. With words and a photograph of the “fluffy flowers,” I will be hypnotized on everything shabby for the rest of the day.

Miss P. and Shabby Chic

Miss P. is one of my newest “Twitter followers” and she is also a lover of “Shabby Chic” fashion. This article in its entirety is dedicated to such an admirable woman. I’m sure you would feel the same way if you saw her “Twitter profile page.” Everything shabby chic. When I say she loves all things shabby, I truly mean it. Want to check her out? Just insert “Miss P.” into the search box on twitter. And you’ll find her. Happy Reading!

All Things Shabby Chic

“Shabby Chic is a form of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor” (, 2016).

History Of Shabby Chic

The style started in Great Britain. Old sofas and other furniture pieces were recycled. The look could be found in big country houses and cottages overseas. Bohemians made this fashion iconic style popular in the beginnings. It’s awesome to see that the style is still loved today (, 2016).
